Hi everyone! I'm still figuring out HOW I missed this website until now!
However, the important thing is that I found y'all! My name is Valerie and I'm a mother of two, grandmother of one, and we live in McDonough, Georgia (which is a little further south of Atlanta). We've got two horses, six goats, six dogs, two cats, a fresh water aquarium, and a family of Canadian Geese (14+) that have adopted us, as they stay at our lake year around. Probably because they know they'll get a morning and evening meal!
We don't have any chickens yet; however once we get the coop built, then we'll be getting some. Just ran out of time, as I was hoping to have had it built back in the Spring. We'll probably get 8-10 of them, without a rooster. That was the only condition my husband laid down about getting some chickens. I've never owned chickens before, so this will be a new adventure for me that I'm looking forward to. Not only will we eventually have our own fresh eggs, we'll also have even more pets! Definitely a win-win situation!
