I love this website and have learned so much from it! I just bought my first chickens within the past couple months. I had an itch to get some and decided to. My lovely boyfriend help me convert a 12x12 stall into two seperate chicken coops. My horses do not mind them at all and are actually rather curious! Eventually a mixed game rooster wandered up from getting kicked out of his territory by another rooster. He was eventually caught wormed, dusted for mites, and checked for any other problems. He passed the test so I bought two rhode island red pullet mixes that will be free range! The rooster has the pasture mapped out and never goes outside the fence. Needless to say he has five acres worth for him and his hens. My neighbor has an incubator and let me borrow it. I was curious to see if I can get it to work. Oh I love my silkies they are so cool! Any suggestions on anything would be great!

If you have Silkies, you don't need an incubator. They are very broody and make great mommas.
Sounds like you got the basic stuff covered. I bet the chickens like all the horse stuff. Growing up, we had a neighbor with a huge barn, no stalls or dividers. His horse and chickens shared the whole place. It was quite the hunt, tracking down the eggs. His daughter knew where to look though.
