Another newbie, love advice!

So, a couple years ago my husband suggested getting chickens to raise for meat. My son and I agreed we didn't really want to do it that way. I thought this was "laid" to rest. However, about 2 months ago a Tractor Supply opened in our little town and the whole chicken plan was "re-hatched"!No longer going for the meat we agreed on girls. I wanted 4, but the minimum order was 6 but the hubby wanted 10. We went with 10. 5 days after they arrived we lost one. She was small, wobbly, and never developed any feathers as the others were. She looked like several others so I'm not quite sure what breed she was.
Any way, any suggestions or advice is always welcome!

Not all chicks make it to adult hood. Shipping can be incredibly hard no them as well as genetic issues csn run amok in hatchery chicks.
