We live in South West Florida on the border of the Everglades and tonight they are calling for unusually low temps like 35 degree's without the wind chill, it's quite windy. My question is I have open air coops for my birds will they be OK without any windbreak at these temps, or should I send DH out for a monster tarp to cover the whole thing? it's 20x20

Thank You in advance BYC members...This newbie would be so lost without you all!!!

I think your birds will be O K I have birds that roost out side at 0 degrees temps and ice covered and come out of that fine. Even greens will be O K at that temp. If the birds have a good roost and can cover their feet to keep them warm they can do very well in cold areas.

Agree with connerhills. You will be fine. Mine switch between inside and outside and it is 26 degrees here and windy with 10 inches of snow right now in northeast Ohio. They do quite well as long as they have a roost that that is wide enough to let them cover their toes when they crouch down to roost. With 35 degrees, no problem.
