Hi BYC members!

My husband, David, and I are new to the site and fairly new to chickens. Years ago we had a variety of chickens and ducks - but that was over 20 years ago.

We just purchased 6 little chicks and a coop and are on our way down the path of fresh eggs.

We look forward to learning from each of you and contributing however we can.

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the welcome, Drumstick Diva.

We're not quite sure of the breed, we purchased egg layer pullets. I hope it's not too taboo, but we purchased them from Tractor Supply and they weren't sure of the breeding either.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Lots of us get our chicks from feed stores. I get all my chicks from places like TSC. Nothing wrong with that!

Make yourself at home here and if you have any questions about your chicks, feel free to ask. Welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC, David and Traci. Glad you decided join our flock. If you want your breeds identified, you can post their pics on our What Breed or Gender is This? section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this, and let our experts there take a look at them. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.

I've only had my small flock of hens for 2 years now, wish I had you past experience when I got mine.

If you haven't already done so, explore the Learning Center Articles as a refresher, there's quite a lot of great info there.

Enjoy the forums.
