Another Newbie

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Just purchased the Spring Book Special "Raising Chickens for Dummies". Can't wait to get started reading. Not quite sure of the extra benefits of a Goldwing membership, but I am sure I'll figure it out (with a little help from the group).

We have had this little flock for a week and a half now. I can't believe how much they have changed and how they have grown! They are beginning to recognize us and come to the front of their pen when we walk by. Of course we acknowledge them with a happy "Hello, Chickie, Chickies!" and they seem to smile and positively respond (I know that sounds strange). We are truly enjoying them. Dave is working diligently to complete their coop, I'll post some pictures when its done. It is soo cute!

Well, thanks again for the warm welcome, I look forward to being part of this group and contributing as I can (after the paying job and the farm chores are done)

Welcome! We bought our 6 girls from our local TSC too! They are growing so fast and are beautiful (6 wks old this Saturday)!

I agree with you 100%..they really do seem to smile. This is Gracie...she LOVES my husband...seriously.. she's always looking up at him like a love sick puppy. Such a sweet little face. (Please ignore the mess on the floor as I was trying to clean things up they all decided running through it scattering it everywhere was a lot of fun! My poor husband was trying to coax them with some food to get them to stand still so I could sweep it all up) LOL

Good luck with your babies and enjoy their silly antics.

Hi BYC friends!

Wasn't sure the best place to post pictures of our coop and chickies. Dave just got it done today and put the chickies in it for their first outdoor playtime.
