Hello,

My husband and I are true "accidental chicken lovers". I suppose some breeder didn't want their excess roos, so they chose our driveway to throw them off the truck at. We heard them (the birds) all night in our bushes making these weird gacking sounds. When we inspected in the morning it was two very young roos and an old OE. We put them up in the barn and fell in love with them. So now we have a flock of 3 gold stars & 3 australorps for the 2 remaining roos (we sadly lost one) with 4 baby wyandottes growing big so they can join. We have no eggs yet, but eagerly await them! Of course the Bantum OE runs the SHOW, but he's by far the better protector. He's a gorgeous golden duckwing. The other roo looks like a silver laced red wyandotte cross with something splash as he has a big single comb, not a rose. Even after maturing we can pick this one up and carry him around like a baby. He loves attention and always tries to show us where the worms are (people are his flock) he literally throws bugs and worms at our feet! He takes such good care of us. We give him the same.

This is a wonderful site full of great folks and people just like me; smitten with chickens. I love all of the photos of everyone's birdd and all of the knowledge on this site. I am finding that I should barely need to start a thread on anything as it's all been written before! I especially love the contests where people upload photos! I love photos of your chickies and can't get enough of that!
