Another Okie new to BYC

Welcome!

Hey, thanks for the welcome everybody!

It's been a busy week for me so haven't had time to visit BYC for a few days. Funny thing happened though... we had our first frost Wednesday night, so to prepare, that day we put some hay in the coop for extra warmth. Right now there are just shelves in both sides with dirt floors, so the hay went on the shelves. Each section is accessible from the outside, but not inside between the two sections, and their access doors are always open. So yesterday morning, no crowing... this morning, no crowing.... about lunchtime hubby went out to see what was up and the roo was in one section of the coop still hunkered down in the hay all snug & warm and the two hens were in the other section hanging out by the feed, but you could see two nest holes in the hay where they had been. It seems that they are so pleased with the hay that they don't want to go outside! Never mind that it's been warm both days - 70 yesterday and almost 80 today. The strange part is that up until this, all three always roosted together in the smaller section of the coop. Go figure...
