I'd like to remove my naughty chicken from the others. She keeps pecking her buddies. Funny thing is she usually gets the tail feathers or the fluff on the right thigh. The only problem is I'm running out of placed to put wayward chickens. Bubba C, my roo, is getting a bachelor pad built tomorrow, so my girls can have a break. I have a broody on eggs in basement. I was thinking of putting my pecky hen in a metal dog crate in the coop. Will this make things worse having her seperated from the others or will this help cure her bad behavior?

Thanks,
Sonja

If you keep her seperated for a good long while the others will re-arrange the pecking order in her absence. Once you put her back she'll be at the bottom of the totem pole and will probably learn to mind her manners. It might cure her.
