Another Possum

I had to get rid of another Opossum last night. Inside the coup. I'm a little worried because I only found 3 of the 4 chickens. It was dark so one might be hiding somewhere. I have to wait till I get home to see if all is well.

did you shoot it, or get rid of it another way? when I go into my coop in the mornings I'm always looking around to see if some type of critter has found his way in over the night.

I would guess by the picture, it got shot.

After losing two hens in early fall, I've trapped and "relocated" six opossums. No hens lost since I started trapping them (but I also did a few things to make my coop more predator proof).

Yeah, I had to use my air rifle so I didn't wake up my neighbors. I don't like shooting anything wild because I feel there is not enough wild left in this world, but had to protect my chickens. Yeah, I think I will have to figure out some better security measures myself.

Oh, has anyone ever seen anyone wearing a Possum Skin Hat?
