Gracie my WH and Babs my black cayuga have been sharing the nest box, both sitting on 11 eggs. This was there 3rd week. Sadly today, I heard Gracie and Babs screaming and having a fit.. I first thought maybe a snake had gotten in the nest. Tasha one of my other ducks had gotten in the nest and ate most of the eggs.. Why? Is she needing something? This is so heartbreaking. Gracie is still quacking and pacing back and forth. If anyone has any idea why Tasha would do this please help me out. I took out the last 2 eggs and candled them, 1 egg wasn't fertile and the other showed no signs of life. And there was only a piece of 1 shell left, maybe half a shell.

Poor you and poor little duckies. So sorry to hear about it. Was it perhaps a dominance, territory or jealousy thing? I am sure someone more experienced will come in with some good advice for you.
