Hello!

I'm getting ready to set eggs in my Little Giant with a fan and egg turner. My last two hatches have only been around 50% and I believe it's because of humidity issues. I think I've drowned my chicks right before hatch because I find fully formed chicks in the eggs.

With no water added the humidity in the incubator is about 35% (outside air is about 60%. Should I add water?

What level is ideal for the first 18 days?

What lever is idea for the last 3 days?

I'm in Northwest Indiana if that makes any difference.

THANK YOU!!

No, I would not add water. I do live in a humid area though. But I have let my humidity get as low as 20 and I have had excellent hatches. It seems to me that the humidity at the time of lock down is when it is important. I get temp set for few days and then put eggs in and leave alone except to turn. I never add water unless less then 20. I had such terrible hatches with high humidity and great ones with less.
