So I have a chick hatching...another chick was pecking it so I took him out. But now the one still inside the shell seems to be bleeding a bit. How bad is this? From what I’ve read the chick could bleed to death?? Help!!

So he came out of the egg, but there’s blood. I removed the other chick so he could rest and dry up. Hopefully he’s ok.

Sorry you haven't gotten a response. It probably broke a little blood vein, it should be ok. Keep it warm and away from other chicks. Does it still have unabsorbed yolk?

No he didn’t have any yolk. He’s ok!! I removed the other chick that was with him so he could rest and dry up. He’s good now and soooo cute!!

11 chicks out of the 14 eggs I had. Still 3 in the incubator...not sure they are viable. Today is day 24...candled them and can see perfect air cells in the right spots but I can’t tell if there’s movement or not because they’re so dark inside.

I’m pretty happy with that success rate for my first time. I’d like to upgrade my incubator to something a little bigger for the next batch I do. 😊😊
