at what age an you tell roos from female? i have one baby that is loud and always stretching as tall as he can get and raises a fuss

If they are coturnix, it sounds like that one is a roo. From the description it sounds like it is crowing. You can tell the sexes of certain colors of coturnix at around 3 weeks old, more specifically the browns and goldens. The males will have a red or rust colored breast, the females will be tan with spots. All of them can be vent-sexed once they are mature, so if you have a crower you should be able to tell the others within a week, that is if they aren't sexable by their color.
