There are many ways.. .old paint chips.. ..old pipes.. spent bullets, shot, or a pellet from a pellet rifle, and who knows what household appliance rusted away.. .. or even an old gas spill. Several years ago I was asked to check a report of was dead snow geese.. ..went. ..immediately knew it was lead poisoning (20+ years of dealing with lead poisoning gives a lot of clues)...weeks later it was confirmed, although I had the x -rays of the gizzards the next day. ..,600-1000 geese died.. ..no idea where they found the lead. It only takes 1 number 4 was pellet to kill a duck.. ...remember that lead was shot until about 1985.....so anywhere could have lead pellets, spilled gas, paintchips. ....

Is there a cure for lead poisoning?

Depends upon how much less.. ..1 number 4 pellet caused about 20 per cent mortality in mallards.. ...that mortality occurred within 72 hours(longer for pochards )....chelating agents remove the lead from the blood and slow the effects.

It turns out he has Coccidiosis I am so glad its something i can treat. I can finally relax now i just realized i haven't eaten in 2 days i have been so worried lol. He already looks a lot better since he has been drinking his medication and the vet appointment only cost $64
