another silly question

What (exactly) is the tailhead of a chicken? I thought it was the "bump" the tail feathers grew out of. I have a roo that has never had any tail feathers even tho he has a "bump" where all the other roos have tail feathers sprouting from. Could he be an Aracauna (sp). He is from My EE pen so maybe they are mixed Americana and Aracuana? Should I breed him to some hens and see if he passes on the no-tail trait?

Most likely, since I think the araucanas are tail-less.

The "bump" is the UROPYGIUM, and if your bird has one he's not an Araucana.
