I was given this turkey yesterday. It's a Bronze Mammoth and about 4 months old. The owners said it's a tom. What do you think?

I'm not a turkey expert, but I think it is a hen.

I think you're right, but wanted to get other opinions. I've gobbled at it and it didn't puff up or gobble back. It does turn quite red in the face and blue on top of it's head. I do see a beard.

Can anyone else give me an opinion?

    How much does it weigh?

That could help me determine what gender it is.

Good Luck With him/her! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Really? The weight? Doesn't that differ with whatever they were fed?

You said you saw a beard, right?

1 in ten females have beards, and so did one of my females. I'm guessing its a female too.

Today he/she displayed it's tail feathers in front of my cat. I don't know if that means anything. Here you can see the redness in it's face.

Is everyone in a agreance that this is a hen? Do hens turn red and blue on their head when they get agitated? I've seen it do that a few times.
