Another Update

[Maple Cake]

Out of six seemingly viable eggs with full embryo development, only two hatched on the 16th-17th. I waited on the 18th with no signs of anymore hatching from the clutch. this morning I handled and candle lit them again and there was absolutely no movement or signs of life. Out of curiosity I picked one open along the airpocket and confirmed my suspicions. 4 out of the 6 eggs that reached late stage development had died within the egg. I disposed of the lifeless eggs in the edge of the woods for any scavenger to feed on.

But we still got two healthy chicks that are eating and drinking already
