Just a quick question, I assume any meat you give to chickens should be cooked? My chickens love chasing and scoffing down lizards, but I have never actually fed them meat just because they free range and have access to critters in the garden.

Sooo. just gave them a chicken carcass that I was going to use to make stock and OMG, talk about cannabalism!! It was like Piranha fish around a piece of meat! They were chasing each other around the garden with chicken legs in their beaks,

if it wasn't so comical it would be sick! My husband was in hysterics watching them.. I know some will be grossed out by feeding them chicken of all things but soooo funny.

I've done the chicken carcass thing, too, but don't forget to pick up all the bones--you don't want to attract predators!

Mine get everything...ham bones that have meat left on them, beef bones pork bones chicken bones all have meat left on them it goes to the chickens. Left over veggies lettuce cabbage, but they don't get anything from nightshade family of plants

I'll feed them leftovers of chicken, turkey, beef, pork, whatever. They got a whole ham bone once after it got spoiled. They loved it. Chickens are not vegan and trying to make them be such is just silly. Let them out for any amount of time, and they'll wolf down grasshoppers, worms, and even mice, occasionally.

Mice are like live soccer balls to chickens. Have seen mine fling a mouse 6-8 feet then chase over to it and repeat. they eventually pick it to pieces.

This is so hilarious! but it also scares me...
My chickens have eaten pepperoni pizza but besides that we haven’t fed them meat. I wouldn’t be against it tho...

After that....how could you ever NOT give them chicken. Kinda like kids on Christmas morning!
