It was... disconcerting. Some employees quit over it. One left after seeing the ghost and never came back. She just ran out, didn't bring her uniform back or pick up her last paycheck.

Everyone described the ghost the same way: a woman, dressed in "clothes like on Little House On The Prairie" (this was the 1980s), her hair and skirt blowing slightly like there was a wind but there was no wind. Sometimes she looked like she was talking to someone but you couldn't hear anything. If you approached her she'd suddenly turn to you with a demonic look and hiss at you then disappear. I'm glad I never saw that.

We were constantly cleaning up the mysterious messes. Sometimes we'd open the theater and all the cardboard cutouts in the lobby would be face down, or there would be toilet paper and paper towels all over the restrooms, or merchandise in the (locked) concession display cases would be trashed.

The manager was the only one who had keys to the exterior doors. He always opened and closed the theater. He was a nice 40-something guy with a family and was not given to pranks. He got annoyed when things were messed up for no apparent reason, not that I blame him.

The theater was a stand-alone building so there was no way to gain entry other than the doors. It was also next to a cemetery (!) not a creepy old cemetery but a beautifully maintained one with big trees and flower beds and Tudor-style buildings. All the headstones were laid in the ground instead of standing up so it looked more like a big park than a cemetery.

I went back a few years ago to see if the theater is still there. It isn't, it was torn down at some point and there's just an empty lot there now. The cemetery is still there of course, as well-maintained as ever.
Too bad none of that happened recently when ghost hunting became a thing, you would've had droves of YouTubers pulling up to find her.

I know, right? That was a different time. No cameras, either, just one CCTV for the parking lot. I wonder what interior cameras might have shown after the theater was closed up for the night and everyone left. 🫣

No one warned me about any of this before I was hired, btw. At first I thought it was some kind of new employee hazing. When it went on for days and weeks and months, and seeing how much of a PITA it was for everyone, I realized no one was doing this, it was just happening. Maybe all of that was a factor in the theater eventually being torn down.

I don’t know if you would call this paranormal, or supernatural, or guardian angels, but:

About 6 years ago, some friends of ours went on a camping trip.
As they headed out of town, a truck swerved into their lane. As they tried to dodge him, their rig,(Suburban pulling a camper, pulling an ATV trailer), was caught in a huge wind gust. They had a nasty roll over.
One of their teen-age sons had not been buckled. He was ejected out of the side window.
As he hit the ground, somehow still staying conscious, he had shooting pain all over his body. By the time his mind was clearing up, a random car had stopped. The sweet woman who got out, claiming to be a certified nurse, began attending him until the helicopter arrived to airlift him to a bigger city.
On arrival of the helicopter/paramedics, when he was all situated, the family turned to thank her. She, her son, and the SUV she was driving, had vanished. No one saw her leave.

The boy went on to a long, difficult recovery, but is fully well now. I don’t think he would have survived if that angle hadn’t said a prayer over him that afternoon.

yeah I don't even like ghostly stuff but this is one story I would actually be into, I would watch the whole documentary without playing wordle even once😤

That's diabolical, but I wonder if they would get very many new hires if they informed them of the transparent tenant🤔

That's hella scary, I'm sure it couldn't be fun working there and keeping the place running with such a nuisance of a ghost harshing the vibe. Theaters already struggle so much unfortunately, makes me sad every time I drive by my local theater and see the parking lot empty😕

Sounds like an angel to me.
