Ant beds!

If you can find the location of the ant mounds a safe approach is beneficial nematodes. There are a couple species that target ants. They work their way through the soil and seek out the larvae. Eventually, the colony is destroyed when no new ants mature.

Another method is a product like Amdro ant block which the ants take back to the hive, feed to the queen and kill her.
My biggest problem is carpenter ants and I can't find where the nest is.
Do you know what kind of ants you are dealing with? What is your location?

I have horrible fire ants that I just put wisdom ( a insecticide) in a sprayer and spray the ants directly or stir up the ant bed and then spray it. Of course some people don't want anything toxic but fire ants are vicious and hard to kill in a organic way. It has had no effect on my hens or production. Of course my chickens stay clear of fire ants because they must hate them too. 😅

I have sprinkled food grade diatomaceous earth around and under(not in) my outdoor cat's bowl and I have not seen any in that area since.
