Hi All,

I've been given an antibiotic to treat my 5 hens and im so confused with the recommended dosage.
The bottle states to medicate at the rate of 5g per 1l of water however also suggests that 100ml of prepared solution will treat 4 large birds.
Can anyone advise how much I should administer?
Thank you all in advance

Can you take a picture of the exact bottle in your hand and post it here?

Looks like you mix 5g per 1 liter of water.
Make a new liter of water each day.

The bad thing about mixing something with water is you are not sure if each bird is drinking enough of the water to get a good enough treatment or a good enough dose of the antibiotic.

Unfortunately I have no idea what is available for you to purchase over the counter in your area.

Do you guys have to go to a vet in order to get antibiotics?

Thank you for replying. Yes, we do need to get a vet prescription for antibiotics however only a few vets know about poultry in my area. The poultry store recommended this antibiotic instead of going to the vet
