I have a roo that has a respiratory infection. He has clear mucos in his beak, acts like he is choking sometimes, it is crusting up on his face, he is lathargic (I just went up and touched his beak and brushed away some of the dry mucos off of him). He did have a foul "infected" smell to him 2 nights ago that he no longer has. I have given him 1cc of Tylan via his neck for the last two nights, but am wondering if change to another antibiotic might work more effectively. The Tylan must be working on some level as the infected smell is gone, but that is all. No other improvements that I can see.
Does anyone have any thoughts on continued treatment? He's an older roo - maybe 4-5 years old now.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated
