We had some survivors of a coyote attack this morning just limp in injured. Their rears are tore up a bit and there are puncture wounds. I cleaned them up best I can for now.

What would be the best antibiotic to get to put them on to prevent infection? They look like they should make it with rest and time as long as no infection.

I would spray the areas thoroughly with blukote - it's an antiseptic. Then I'd put neoporin on the wounds. Keep them in a clean, dry, quiet, dark place for a couple of days and reapply the neosporin daily.

It's a pretty deep puncture wound. My sister in law recommended getting some Vetericyn to put on it and Duramycin in the water. So I ran out and got them.

All the injured have been treated and are separated off. None of them want to move to much. I bet they are pretty sore. They are alert and respond to me. All are willing to eat and drink, so I think they have a good chance of making it.

I'd walked a long circle out looking for bodies or survivors. The worst one limped her way back about 6 hours after the attack and was trying to get in the fenced run. She sat still while I cleaned her up and accessed wounds.
