I lost a hen suddenly on Friday with no cause of death yet established. When I first got my silkies within 24 hours I had a mycroplasma outbreak and one died. One was in the vet on Wednesday with laboured breathing, another hen has diarrhoea and laboured breathing and the other is sneezing. My vet has given me a 7 day course of Tylan which I’ve started he’s also advised me to treat for coccidiosis even thought my worm count was below 50 to be on the safe side. I’ve got Harkers Coxiod and he’s said to use this now as well as tylan. Do I put both in the same water or have 2 drinkers with one in each?
He’s also said it could be gapeworm and wants me to worm them with flubevet, shall I do this now or wait till I’ve finished the coxoid and tylan I don’t want to overload them whilst but also want to treat anything that could be detrimental to them asap and would be grateful for any advice (it’s a bank holiday in the uk so no vets available)
