Antibiotics for geese

Yes, she is drinking water and shaking her head alot. I haven't noticed the poop because of all the straw she is on, and other geese stand around her and I can't tell which poop is hers. But I will pay attention to that

I'm wondering how long she should be on antibiotics......
Standard is 4 days, but heard they go back on after a while and try again.
I read somewhere that someone kept a goose on antibiotics for 7 weeks!! Maybe they meant 7 days and it was a typo......

Hi there
Thank you for asking but I shot her. She had been attacked and I saw no other injuries except bleeding from inside her mouth and beak scratched. I gave her antibiotics for 5 days, and she didn't eat for 7 days. I force fed her today, I'm sure I did it right, but an hour later she was vomiting and retching and falling over and flapping. It was horrible to watch. It was all too late. I should have force fed her from day 1. Live and learn.

I am so sorry Mary for your loss.

Thank you so much. I really liked that goose, Pilgrims are very gentle. I feel like I suffered thru it as much as she did. At least I learned a lot. So glad she is done starving to death. Antibiotics are not a cure all, without being force fed.

thank you for being so kind. I SO LIKED that gentle Pilgrim goose, and such a pretty goose, what a bummer she suffered. I just got several new adult geese, American Buff and Toulouse, as well as one adult buff runner duck who is the cutest duck I've ever seen who thinks he is a goose too.
