Antigen expired in 2019... still good?

For safety reasons I want to test a new bird that my friend got and we want to make sure that she is salmonella free since the other birds have recently been tested. I have a bottle of antigen but expired and was wondering if it would react?

Drugs and chemicals are often still good beyond the expiration date. However, the manufacturer won't guarantee it beyond that. I don't think anyone can answer that without testing it for efficacy.

There's been an issue with getting Pullorum antigen since last year. call your state office and ask them, or call the manufacturer for advice.

Meds may still be good a bit after expiration, but chemicals, enzymes, and the like used in testing are usually more sensitive.
