When is the proper age to give our ducklings some antiparastitic pills? We've been told by a vet that since they've never been given anything for internal (intestine) parasites that we should give them a pill each.

You don't use pills on waterfowl, that can over dose them. You also don't deworm ducks and geese preventatively like you do dogs and cats. If your vet has only dog and cat experience they won't give good advice for how to treat your ducks.

You have ducklings, no need to deworm without having a feel sample ran to show if there are worms and what kind. Please don't use dewormer for dogs or cats though.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't know about all this. Indeed our vet has only got experience on cats and dogs so I'll try to find someone else. Anyway I'm not going to use anything on our babies before I ask the forums.

I've been seeing things on worming ducks...never really knew too much about that...puppies yes but ducks? How do you know if you need to do that?
