I doubt anyone on here knows anything about antiques but this is one of the only forms I'm a member to and the antique forums I found were generally un-active so I'm posting it here in hobbies since antiques is a hobby. If anyone knows anything that would be helpful. I'm hoping to find out if any of these things are valuable and if so how much. There are 4 medium glass plates, 8 small plates (saucers I believe they're called), and 6 teacups. Everything else is one of each. The paper goes with the large non-glass plate, we think it may be gold leaf but are unsure.

To get an idea of prices, I check eBay. You can also google the mark. For example, I googled "Lefton china cup," and found they're not really expensive.

Generally, glassware and china need to be from certain makers, and even patterns, to be valuable. Sets are always worth more.

Thanks for your replies. I did google the china teaset and found somebody that said each tea plate (small non-glass) and cup together is 20 bucks, and each tea cup on it's on is $10. Is that a good evaluation or too high? Also, how much do you think the whole set is worth even if it's not worth much? I found no label on the glass plates so they probably aren't worth much, how much are glass plates usually worth? And does anyone know if the "gold leaf" plate is genuine?

If you are willing to ship, you can probably get more than locally. You'd have to list it, and possibly wait a while for a buyer.

The gold leaf plate looks like it really is from Japan, but it's hard to see the label on the box. If it doesn't have a mark, it was probably produced as a souvenir. That means it won't be worth a lot, except to someone who thinks it looks nice. Which it does! I have a similar style music box. I paid about $20 in the Tokyo airport for it.

Thanks for your help! I will check for that mark
