antirrhinum, carnation and gazania in flower on Jan 1 - why?

Does anyone know why these plants of mine are still (or again) flowering? Aren't they supposed to be summer flowering plants? They are on a south facing balcony, but there was a heavy frost this morning and it is about 1 C out there today. I just don't get it. They all stopped flowering in the autumn but now they're out again.

Maybe they're just staying warm enough there to bloom. We had chives directly under the drier vent that would bloom in the middle of winter.

Had a friend whose apple tree bloomed back in late Autumn. Strange things happen in strange times.
