Ants and other bugs out

My husband and I just got down making our chicken coop and we haven't gotten it off the ground yet but the chickens are using it. I have ants all over around the outside. I have been looking at like might dust and bug stuff but I don't want to hurt the chickens. What would you recommend for keeping pets out of the coop and off the chickens. Also doi need to get the coop off the ground?? Thanks

unless they are fire ants, my chickens will eat them. Even fire ants might be eaten, but it is best to eradicate them for the chickens safety.

My chickens won't eat ants but the guinea will mess up an ant hill in a hurry!
