Boraxo is made from Borax, by the 20 mule team company. The 20 mule team refers to how they got the Borax to the refinery from the mine out in Death Valley. Boric Acid is the refined product & what makes Boraxo do what it does. They're the same.
I mix Boric Acid & sugar w/ boiling water to kill ants. I mix it in a 50/50 solution to kill the ant that takes it. In a weaker solution, they take it home & feed it to mama & the kids. The damage is cumulative. In my apartment buildings, I sprinkle it under the cabinets to kill roaches. It works the same as DE. I use DE where animals can get it & out in the yard. Boric Acid won't hurt the animals, but DE is good for them.
