Hi, I'm new around here. I've been around a while, but just now starting back up with chicks. I have a brooder on my front porch. They chicks are doing great, but now after a week, I came home to ants all over the place. Big huge ants, not fire ants. They are eating the food. They don't seem to be bothering the chicks, but I'm scared they will. Also the kids and I cant just go outside and sit and watch the chicks with ants all over the place.
I'm wondering what is best to keep them away? I have some Viper Dust that DH bought a long time ago for our old chicks that had fleas around their eyes. It worked, but I'm not sure if it is ok to use around these babies, these are only about 2 weeks old. I also have some DE, but i sprinkled that in the shavings yesterday after clearing out the first ant invasion and they are back today.
HELP!
