I am always seeing small black ants in the coop bedding. Is this normal? They don't seem bothered by them, but I notice them when I am cleaning it out and putting new bedding in.

How small and where do you live? People in different climates have different types if ants.

Down south here we have a harmless ant we call a piss ant. They are very small. They like to eat left over food. They don't bite. We also have another ant that eats wood! It's larger than the piss ant but it doesn't bite either. Then we have fire ants which can't be what you have. They bite hard and it hurts!
