Good Morning. I am almost finished with my coop and I will be building the run this week. I notice however, on the ground were my run will be, were holes in the ground, about the size of a pencil eraser. And there were ants going in and out of the holes. These aren't fire ants, at least I don't believe they are. Most fire ant mounds I've seen have raised up dirt around the mound. These are flush to the ground. My question is should I try to dig these out and kill them before letting my chickens in the run, or just let the chickens dig them up and eat them? I don't want to put any chemicals down (obviously) but I could try pouring boiling water on the ground were the holes are, or try shoveling them up. What do you all think?
