I use pine shavings, in the coop, and it's just out on the run. Hens free range when im home. I've noticed a lot of ants in the coop, and they leave black things in the water as well. They swarm around the water and the sheddings. Water and pine shavings inside, and the feeder is outside. I use DE for poultry but it doesn't seem to help. Any advice? Thanks.
