Ants near coop????

I've noticed that recently there have been loads of ants on the roof of my coop and all around it. I'm wondering if i should be worried about this or if it makes any difference to my hens

It may depend on the type of ants. Mine won't eat ants, and a broken egg in a nest makes a real mess, so I keep a little Sevin or DE sprinkled around the coop to control them -- and I poison hills near the coop. But then we have fire ants.
