Ants

Before I put the pine shavings in the coop I laid heavy plastic on the floor and 6" up the walls. I recently was in there to insulate and panel the interior. When I moved some shavings out of the way to nail paneling I Noticed a whole s--- load of ants under the plastic- problem or not?

If they are small ants (well, and not fire ants), no problem.

If they are great big black carpenter ants, BIG problem.

Because carpenter ants eat wood and disintegrate it.

I know that! But harm the chicks or smorgasbord. They are trapped there now and can't get out to feed!

Well I moved something in my yard. Can't remeber what ,but there was a huge bull ant nest under it and thechickens ate them all.
