Hello everyone! I am a suburbanite-turned-city-girl-turned-country. I've always been interested in raising chickens and finally decided to take the plunge a few weeks ago. I now have ten three week old mystery chicks, who I fret over night and day. It's nice to meet all of you and I'm really looking forward to any wisdom you can impart!

Many of us fretted day and night when we first got chickens (ducks and geese). I promise you will learn to relax more; I can't promise you will ever stop fretting.

Their lives will always be in your hands, and new challenges will always come along. But, if ever you feel like you're not up to the challenge, check in with this great group of caring, experienced folks who will be happy to help you.

Welcome to BYC and congratulations on your flock -- no matter what breed they are! I am terrible at identifying the breeds of chicks, but if you post photos, there are BYC people who are quite good at it. Again, welcome!
