The more posts I read the more anxious I am getting about getting some chicks, I just hope its not to cold by the time I get the coop finished. It sounds like so much fun to watch the baby chickies grow up.

We'll help you out through every step, don't worry! Ask away and we'll walk you through it.
Where do you live? Chickens actually handle the cold much better than the heat.

We are in lower Michigan. My brother in law started raising chickens last year and when my husband and I got the opportunity to buy an additional 7+ acres next to our house we jumped at that. I am so looking forward to the weekend so I can get busy cleaning out the stables and start building my coop. I would have started yesterday however its been raining for two days now

I know what you are feeling. I finally took the plunge last week and ordered my chicks from our local hatchery! Today at 1pm, I became the mother of 42 chicks.

I've been checking them every couple of hours since I picked them up, not that I have to. Everywhere that I've read, I've heard to expect casualties, but everyone seems ok so far
