I decided to go through and basically redo all the transactions and journal entries. Everything was correct to start with, but when I'd put the figures into my worksheet I would get messed up somewhere. So after redo-ing it and entering the figures it finally evens out!!

I don't know where I messed up the first (10 or 20) times, but I've finally figured it out!! I'm so happy I could cry

I've been working on this one part for 3 or 4 days!!

Glad you got it, and sorry that I'd missed your subsequent posts looking for more help ...

I guess you learned two things ... how to do a trial balance, and why!

(Trial balance is for checking accuracy!)

Good luck with your class!

I am so happy for you. Doesn't it feel good when that light bulb goes off? I used to tutor Financial Accounting back in college.

Right now I am an International tax accountant so I don't do any trial balances anymore. I fill out forms and review tax provisions.

I must have been putting some figures in the wrong column, the way the final was set up, it didn't need to be done in order. So I had already had the closing accounts done, before I did the trial balance. I think that's what messed me up the most, trying to figure out which one was supposed to be there for the trial balance, and which ones weren't. If I'd have just done it the right way the first time, I wouldn't have had to work on it for days on end!!

**Note to self--Don't take short-cuts!**
