any advice and help to teach me what to look for in a basic american class show chicken conformation

i raise wyandotte, barred rock, new Hampshire, Australorp, Marans, and some more i forgot

Australorps are in the English class, and Marans are in the Continental class. It might be easier to post pictures of your birds and let people tell you how they compare to the Standard. I have Barred Plymouth Rocks and Black Copper Marans, among others. Will you be showing in the junior or open division?

i know that some i said are in other classes those are breeds i breed, my question was mostly about the americans though i would love some info on how to pose them and all

You don't pose them. They have to have the carriage, or type, that the standard calls for. Some birds look better at certain times than they do at others. You do want to condition them to stand properly while they are being looked at. If you show pictures of your birds, maybe someone can advise you on what to work on.

X2

The only ones you worry about posing is Seramas or Japanese bantams...
Your best bet is to go to the APA website and buy the Standard of Perfection book, newest edition... that will give you a lot of info on what birds should be for their breeds...
