The fenced in run is great to have already! That existing coop looks too small for practical purposes, I wouldn't really invest my time into it personally.
I dunno why more people don't do it, but IMO one of the best solutions for a quick and cheap coop for just a handful of hens is a going to be a free kids playhouse. The basic structure of these is great and not a whole lot of fabrication or investment needed to make it a coop.
