I have a premature chick which hatched a week ago. It seemed to have absorbed all its yolk, there is nothing hanging out. He is really weak and could just about wobble on its feet and cry softly. He doesn't seem to be able to eat on its own and I have been trying to coax it to eat small grains of rice by hand feeding it. He takes only about 4-5 grains when I did succeed in coaxing it to eat. He has refused all chick food and even cooked eggs I made for him.
He weighs 35g and has not put on any weight since birth. Does anyone know if there is a liquid diet I can feed the chick with or any advise on just to help it eat? It is heartbreaking to see it struggling and I don't know how to help it.
