Hi and welcome to BYC!

Glad to have you aboard. Chickens are chickens. Buy one of the big manufacturers. Frankly, I have fed a bunch of different brands. I like the ones made by Cargill. They make Agway brands and Nutrena and Naturewise. I like them better than Southern States and Dumor. Purina is good with a long successful history in poultry management. I just like the smell, color and effect on my birds that the Cargill products give. You will need crushed oyster shell for the hens. Put in a separate cup so their egg shells will be strong. They will take it as they need it. Oh, also buy a bag of Black Oil Sunflower seeds. Feed them a tablespoon a day per bird. The oil in the seeds will eventually make it to their oil glands which they use to preen their feathers. It will leave the preened feathers bright and shiny!
Best,
Karen

DrumstickDiva,

Cluck02 asks:
"today droppings are loose yellow this normal".

I don't see in the provisions for the birds any medicated feed ? If she got them from a dairy farm, could they have cocci? What do you think? I know molasses stops the runs in chickens. Do you think some might be a good idea to add to their diet? I don't know what the dosage would be. Also don't know how old these birds Clucky02 has are?
Best,
Karen
