Any Beekeepers out there?

ME! I have 2 hives. This is my 3rd. year of keeping bees and it has been lots of fun.. You?

I don't know if I'm a beekeeper, but I am a bee owner.
I inherited the job first, for three years when caring for my FIL and his farm.
After he passed I brought the hives home with me.

considering how fragile bees are now I almost feel like it's my duty to work to maintain some hives, but it's expensive and sometimes time consuming. I appreciate everyone trying to do their best, that is for sure.

I don't know if it helps but I go down and sit in front of their hive a few times a week and just visit with them, just like the do the hens. I love to listen to their stories.

bee-less at the moment

I just moved from SoCal and decided that it wasn't practical to move my bees all the way to MO...
so in the spring I'll start with new bees... can't wait! love the little critters and they're great for my garden!

Well - it looks like no one has written off bees completely. I knew I was hanging with the right crowd.

Had them, lost them, not in the right life positioning to obtain them again right now but think that anyone who can raise bees should raise bees just to preserve their kind.

They are the only livestock who make their own food and clean out their own house.
