Any big game hunters here? Chickens by day, deer by evening (in season)?

It is bow season here, but I don't bow hunt yet. I don't think I can be sure of the humane kill part. Guns for me still for awhile. What do you hunt?

Got this one on deer cam at the spot I will be hunting next weekend. He's standing about 15 yards directly in front of the lean-to, lol. Sure hope he comes back while I'm there.

Lesalynn, unfortunately they never seem to show when you have a gun! But I'm hoping for you. he looks like a nice one.

Heading to elk camp next weekend. Starting to pack already. Wish me luck! This will be my second hunt for elk. I've hunted whitetail deer alot back in WI, but elk is new to me.

Any elk hunters out there that want to give me any advice? I have a cow/calf permit.

I would KILL to go elk hunting, lol. I watch elk hunts on tv, and just dream about it. I bet it's awesome!! Good luck, and hopefully you'll have some pics to post when you get home.

I'd love to hunt something other than white tail. Red stag and caribou are on my list! Have hunted for 35 yrs, always used my trusty 20 ga shot gun (we're not allowed to use rifles in my area). Yesterday was our bow season opener. I have a nice bow set up but practice time is limited so I won't go if I cannot get any practice in. I have taken quite a few nice buck in my day, but the young doe are by far the tastiest!

I agree! I want the tender meat, not the mega multi buck, but bragging rights would be nice!

I've never shot Elk, but I'd like to. Not this year I'm afraid. Got a Browning .308 that should handle deer and elk.
