Any big game hunters here? Chickens by day, deer by evening (in season)?

Our entire family spends weekends at the deer camp during the season. We hunt whitetail. I own a Remington .270 automatic 7400 series. The first rifle I ever bought. Love it! I absolutely love hunting deer! Bought a bow 2 yrs ago, havent got one with the bow yet, but love it, not giving up.

Two of my borthers were bow hunters. I think while intrigued, I'm gonna stick with the rifle for deer! Here in Kansas we have mule deer, white tail deer (mostly those near me), and some Elk out west. I'd like to get over for an Elk, but I think I'm just going for the white tail this year.

I kinda wanted the .270, but they thought the kickback would be displeasing to me. I barely stepped up form a .243 when I got the .308. Uses about the same ammo though.

Me and my dad are gonna take a bow class so we can take a moose behind our house. Its UFA (some college or something) property so theres no getting away with killing a moose with a bow w/o the permit! But boy.. can i taste the meat already

I can totally see me using a cross bow. However, here you have to be under 16 or over 55 to use one for deer. You can use them for turkey though. I'm thinking about getting a 12 gauge for turkey. It'll shoot other things too, but I like to eat turkeys, and Kinda hate eating my friends! We did, however, name our white turkey (a girl as it turned out) THANKSGIVING so we'll remember thats her job. Oh well.

12 gauge? A shot gun would work great cause you gotta aim for the head (assuming a 12 guage is a rifle, LOL) and you can use them for rabbits and bear even. Just depends on what type of bullet you got in. Lettme ask my mom when she wakes up what type of shot gun she has, case hers can shoot rabbits, grouse, moose, bear (not that its reccomened.. LOL)
