Any brahma growers

I have a question. If I get a flock of brahmas going do you think I might be able to sell some on craigs list or something. Was wondering what a roo and say 4 hens would be worth. Just looking for a way to make some bucks.

If they're hatchery birds, you'd probably get about $20 per hen and you'd have to try to give the rooster away. Same price as basically any other hatchery pullets/hens and roosters. Unless for some reason brahmas are really 'hot' in your area right now.

If you got some from nice show lines, you might do better, but then you'd have to find people who care about that and want to spend the money for nicer birds. If your area is mostly people wanting chickens as livestock for eggs and meat, you might have a hard time with that.

In my area started pullets/POL pullets sell for about $15 per bird regardless of breed -- with a discount expected if you buy a group at once. Guaranteed blue layers or dark layers or high-demand colors like blue, lavender, or melanistic *might* bring $20-25 if you hit the market just right.

Cockerels and roosters are often offered at $5 but rarely actually sell.

Show-quality chickens are worth more but have a much more limited market -- especially in the time of Covid cancelling shows and fairs.

It's my old Nascar fan board name -- Roush's original Killer Bs were Greg Biffle and Kurt Busch in the truck series and adding Kyle Busch made three.
