But I'm gonna go back and read them all I promise!! I just got so excited when I started reading that I couldn't wait til the end..

FLTeen- thank you for starting this thread! I had stayed away from it when I first saw it posted cause I though "oh uh, that one ain't gonna last long" And I didnt' want to get in an argument with anyone.

GreenFamilyFarms - I have missed my Christian family since we moved from NC last april. We used to attend a really really tiny church in Love Valley and it's just not felt like home anywhere. I love BYC friends 'cause you all understand the "chicken thing". Now it's awesome to find Christian Chicken Crazies too!!

Partyfowl - I too blog about the chickens. DH makes fun of me. He thinks I'm nuts anyhow. But I 've had nice responses about it. We are trying to get back to nature. I was laid off last summer and since we started growing food and raising chickens, it's put a new spin on life and how nice simplicity actually is. I'm not weaving my own clothes, I draw the line at that one!

Kargo - my DD is 16 and she wears her "Yes I am a Jesus Freak" t-shirt to school all the time. Be proud of who you are, God is.

77Horses - Chris Tomlin is great. Have you heard Micheal W Smith's concert cd A New Hallelujah? That one will have you dancing down the street!!!

Thank You admins for allowing this to be here and supporting it to be "drama free". Isn't it amazing these young people who are so strong in their faith and their willingness to stand up for Christ in a way that many folks just wouldn't be willing to put themselves out there for! I know I never had that conviction in my youth, and I am not that old. Isn't God's grace beautiful!?!

Arise! Let the Church Arise!
Let love reach to the other side!
Alive! Come Alive!
Let the song Arise!!!

That's my favorite verse too! It got me through 3 brain surgeries! I just did a Bible Study on the book of Philippians. It was called "Enjoy" by Tianne Moon. Very good! If it were not for the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus, I would not be here today. I became a Christian in high school, maybe 15 years ago.

Chip Ingram has some really really great programs of study. I got his realtionship series for my teens. Very helpful for me to really explain to them what God wants for them when they are realting to the opposite sex.

Also, I have this really good cd series on the 10 commandments it's by Alistair Begg called Pathway to Freedom.

Ok! I read them all!! So excited to see so many brothers and sisters in Christ on BYC!!!

Carenm - to answer your question......I was raised Catholic. And YES, CATHOLICS ARE CHRISTIAN. Anyone who believes CHRIST was immaculately concieved, live and died on the cross and rose from the grave to free us from our sins is a CHRISTIAN. It's not the "brand" of your religion that counts. Religion is man's spin on God's word. Faith is belief in God's word. That one bugs the tar out of me. I have been hearing that my whole life. When I was 16 in HS I was at a basketball game reading my Bible. I had a brother of a friend say to me. I thought you were Catholic. You read the bible? I said to him you believe in Jesus? he said yeah. I said, well, me too. Small world.

But I digress.... ANywho, I was raised Catholic and my biggest influence in my childhood was my father. He never really attended church. Although he did convert - he was raised methodist(I think) - he was never a real church go-er. My mother on the other hand was only as devout as it would make a good impression(or at least that's the way it seems, even today, God forgive me, but that's another long story). I found and still find a great deal of hypocracy in the church. I never felt at home. So, I walked away.

In 2003 my uncle and cousin were killed in a car wreck. Later that year my father started dialysis. In 2005 my father went in the hospital and 7 months later left, in a casket. My life, which had been barely holding on through my husband's alcohol and drug addiction, fell apart. I walked away from my life. I was lost. I was not who I wanted to be.

God spoke to me, through my father. and unbenownst to me, he spoke to my husband too. He told me go back. Start again. Don't give up on DH. He came to my DH (I found this out after the fact) when he was in a cocaine stuppor and told him he was not being the man he was supposed to be. DH said my father, plain as day stood in our livingroom and told him "You are supposed to be taking care of my girl." Dh said he almost O.D. that night. He was sure that if he had fallen asleep that night he would not have woken. It was the truest low point in his life. They always say you have to "hit bottom" to get truely sober. I believe to the very core of my being, at my DH's "bottom" Jesus was waiting to help him climb back up.

He went cold turkey October 28, 2006. He's been clean and sober ever since. No classes, no therapy, no rehab. He got clean and we are still married 13 years this month by the Grace of GOD.

We started going to a little church in NC. It was a "non-denominational church" DH found in 2004. He had told me about it plenty of times and I agreed to go (although my mother has still not forgiven me). I was super apprehensive about attending. But the first time I walked in the door, I knew I was home. I felt my heart swell. I never knew what that meant before that day. I sat in the back of the church with my "changed" husband and I litterally cried tears of joy the whole service. I must have looked a fool, but I didn't care. I had felt the deepest sorrow and the highest joy and I know it was all for the love of God that I was there through it all. I miss that church. I haven't found anything like it here in PA. So, I listen to GOD's word through cds and radio until I can find a "church" to go home to.....

I try daily to remember all that I have been given by God. It's hard sometimes when you are struggling with money and bills and day to day living. I still swear like a sailor, I don't honor my mother like I know I should, I get angry and don't forgive as quickly as I should. But I try. I try to be a good steward of what I have been blessed with and I try to pass that along in my day to day doings. I know I am loved buy the LORD and I know I am blessed far far more than I could ever deserve. I feel GOD's grace and I know HIS love. and I know HE knows who I am and HE loves me anyway.

Times are hard
GOD is so good
HE's never failed you and HE said HE never would
HE sees your tears and HE fights your fears
Hold on help is on the way, help is on the way
He said He'd never wouldn never leave you or forsake you and He never will
Stay strong
Hold on help is on the way, help is on the way.

Man, this is an AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL Sunday!! I'm listening to the cd and praising the LORD! One more lyric then I gotta do some outside work......

Savior, He can move mountains
My GOD is mighty to save,
He is mighty to save
Forever, author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave.
JESUS conquered the grave!

Shine your light and
let the whole world see
We're singing
for the GLORY
of the risen KING
JESUS!

Yes, I love "A New Hallelujah"!!!! It's one of my favorite songs!

I haven't heard it in a while, but I think this is how it goes:

"(something, something, something....

)....Can you hear? There's a new song. Reaching out to the *children of heaven???* (I think that's how it goes?). Every (something), and every nation. Sing it out, sing a new hallelujah. Yeah......(music music music...) Arise! Let the church arise! Let love, reach to the other side! Alive! Come alive! Let the song arise!...."

And I've heard the "Mighty to Save" one as well!

CLose! lol!! Here it is on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBxOkruKpqI

Can
you hear, there’s a new song
Breaking out from the children of freedom
Every race and every nation
Sing it out sing a new Hallelujah

Let us sing love the nations
Bringing hope of the grace that has freed us
Make Him known and make Him famous
Sing it out sing a new Hallelujah

Chorus
Arise
let the church Arise
Let love reach to the other side
Alive come alive
Let the song Arise

Africa sings a new song
reaching out with the new Hallelujah
Every son and every daughter
everyone sing a new Hallelujah

Chorus
Arise
let the church Arise
Let love reach to the other side
Alive come alive
Let the song Arise

Whoa whoa ye….ah
Let the song arise
Let the song arise ye….ah (2x)

Let the world sing a new Hallelujah
From Africa to Australia
From Brazil to China
From New York down to Houston!

Everyone sing a new Hallelujah (2x)

And, yes, the other one is "Mighty to Save".
